The Dark Knight is my favorite movie of all time, so I'll try my best to refrain from spewing out every piece of dialogue Jonathan and Chris Nolan inked on the page. This film is so utterly engaging that every time I watch it, I find myself in a state where it's almost as if I've never seen the film before. I get hooked every time, and with unforgettable performances from the entire cast (namely Heath Ledger RIP) this movie is one that won't have you checking your phone periodically. The tone is entirely new for the genre, and it distances itself from the campy, "comic-bookyness" that other superhero films of the time had, and instead dons a realistic and serious feel often sported by a crime caper. The dialogue in the film is just about as memorable as can get, and the delivery of the lines never feel contrived, rehearsed or artificial; in addition to this, the action set pieces are nothing short of dazzling and heart-pumping, and in unison with a haunting score by Hanz Zimmer, The Dark Knight is the quintessential action film.
