WHAT I LIKED: Writing a review for 'Sightseers' isn't a particularly easy thing to do, because all there really is to say is that it's completely and utterly bonkers and genuinely hilarious. Now I could of course try and quantify its hilarity with words and dissect the reason its blend of satire and off-the-wall situational humour makes me laugh, but really I'm not entirely sure why it does. In some ways the fact that one finds watching two caravan owners go on a killing spree so amusing is rather baffling, but then that's the beauty of comedy that Ben Wheatley and Amy Jump seem to so enjoy exploiting.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It is the same sort of weird joke for quite a long time...
VERDICT: With her distaste for film criticism, I suspect Amy Jump would be very pleased by the fact that I can't really quantify my thoughts on 'Sightseers,' but the bottom line is that this film is very very funny, and very, very weird. Go see it.1 member likes this review.
