While Moneyball could be easily perceived as a typical biopic film, Aaron Sorkin's screenplay elevates it to an insightful character study about a reserved, yet confident, master. Brad Pitt is excellent, avoiding to play his typical suave character and instead aiming for a broken man haunted by his past failures.

The film also boasts an impressive host of supporting roles from Jonah Hill, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Chris Pratt. Bennett Miller's reflective direction chooses to focus on moments of silence with our characters. This creates a nice contrast between Sorkin's intelligent script and these moments of quiet.
