  Ah, Red Dragon. The film that was only made because an aging Anthony Hopkins was increasingly becoming less believable as a 15 years younger version of himself. A re-telling of the film Manhunter, this version is a vast improvement on the material. Without getting too much into the weeds on plot, the story is gripping and expertly paced. Most of the actors do well in their role, although I believe Edward Norton is severely miscast in the lead. Although I can’t say making this film was necessary, it is certainly worth your time to check it out.
