  I have to preface this by saying that I hate most superhero movies. Plots are thin, acting is generally sub-par, and the fan-boy in-jokes get stale. But, there was something about Spider-Man: Homecoming that I found endearing. I think it’s the innocence that Tom Holland brings to the role of Peter Parker. Where Sam Raimi played the character as just another nerd, Jon Watts allows for character building. He knows that anyone watching already has the basic knowledge of the backstory and spends more time fleshing our the character in a way I haven’t seen before. It’s refreshing and I admit I’ve watched it a couple of times already.
