    SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING
    (Jon Watts, 2017)
    _______________
    Story:
First of all: The actors are amazing. Holland is perfect as this younger, more humerous version of Spider-Man, Keaton brings one of the most charismatic villains to the MCU and the whole supporting cast is doing a really good job. The "dad talk" scene is easily the best one of the movie and one of my favorite moments in the MCU. Sadly, the rest of the script is pretty meh... The plot is just pretty standard, there aren't many surprises or any other ideas to make this film stand out from other superhero films.

    Style:
This movie looks and sounds gorgeus. The visual effects are decent, the production design is great (especially the Vulture design) and the music is just amazing (Blitzkrieg Bop!). It's all very good, but again: It doesn't really stand out. The cinematography was forgettable and the editing was ok, but nothing special. There are no shots or scenes that really stuck to my head from a audio / visual point, but it was all very decent.

    Entertainment:
I gotta be honest: This version of Spidey works so much better, if he can interact with other characters, like in Civil or Infinity War. The humor in this one is ok, but he's so much funnier when he can just drop some onliners. The film still had some decent laughs, mostly coming from the great actors and their characters and I had a fun time. Sadly the acion sequences actually feel pretty boring... No creative action turns it into a boring CGI fest in some scenes, there is no really momorable action sequence, which is kinda sad.

    Conclusion:
I love Spider-Man. Who doesn't? But this films doesn't really stand out to me. A few things, like the great music and the amazing actors lift it slightly above average, but it just feels like another director could have pulled it of better and turn it into a really fun ride, the character has so much more potential. The boring action and uninspired story turn it into a decent blockbuster. Not more, not less.
