If only Ruby Sparks was written by Richard Curtis! That's all I could think when watching this. Don't get me wrong, it's charming, for the most part, has some interesting quirks and even manages to construct an engaging protagonist. But it didn't quite make it into the brilliant tier.
It was like a vanilla ice cream. A good one, top notch flavour with a fluffy, creamy texture. But how does it compare to a chocolate or cookie dough?
Along with an ending that made me shout boo at the screen, in disappointment rather than anger, Ruby Sparks managed to get me on a date but the relationship never came into fruition.
