The Shallows was one of my most anticipated films of the year, and it didn't disappoint! The Shallows is a simple movie, but that is ok because of 3 reasons: First, the special effects were really great, and it had me completely convinced the shark was real. Second, the beautiful Blake Lively did a great job in her one-man-show performance. Third, I am a sucker for beautifully set surfing movies, and this is where The Shallows shined! The cinematography around the surfing scenes and the beautiful beach was incredible. Overall, I would say to definitely see The Shallows, it is an ideal split of beauty, suspense, special effects, and features a strong performance from Blake Lively. I give The Shallows an 8 out of 10.2 member like this review.
