WHAT I LIKED: I don't care what people say, 'Taken' is the quintessential Liam Neeson thriller, and it will always be a film I greatly enjoy. Yes for one the premise is just brilliant, and whilst many engage with the emotional seeds of the likes of 'John Wick,' I think this is a far superior film as the emotional subject and the way this is rather intelligently grounded in its characters makes for something genuinely engaging and exciting. From there, seeing Liam Neeson go on his heroic quest amidst some brilliant action sequences makes Taken one of the best action-thrillers there is, and the Liam Neeson movie to watch.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: I get it, it's cheesy, but the execution isn't actually that bad.
VERDICT: A guilty pleasure? No, I can't apologise for loving something worth loving. 'Taken' is great, and I genuinely stand by that.0 member like this review.
