The Big Sick is an irrefutably charming story complete with laughs that will have you doubled over in no time. Kumail Nanjiani and Zoe Kazan have incredible chemistry, and it really serves as the backbone of the film. Without the established connection between the two main characters, the story doesn't work; Fortunately, their acting abilities are equally fantastic and they manage to pull it off. However, I do want to give a special shout-out to Holly Hunter because I believe firmly, that her role in this movie should garner her a best supporting actress nomination at the academy awards. Her character is troubled (in a very organic way) yet charming, and very adamant, but sweet all at the same time. All the supporting characters really come together well in this film to help mold this story together, and make it the emotional and enjoyable experience that it was.1 member likes this review.
