  This week, I went to see fantastic Beasts, and walking out of the film, I was really disappointed. I'm not going to say this movies bad at all, because I've seen legitimately bad movies that are way worse then this, but this was just bland. From not really being invested in the story or characters, to the tone being like a holiday film, just really upbeat for no reason. I found all the stuff with the beasts themselves not being that interesting, which is a shame, because there was some interesting character designs and the movie being fucking named after the fantastic beasts. The CGI wasn't particularly that good. Most of new York looked really good, but the shots of the beasts looked pretty fake. I did enjoy things about the film. The proformances were pretty good throughout, the world building is fantastic (no pun intended), and there were some actually intense scenes with some cool uses of magic. Overall, I'd give fantastic Beasts a 6/10, because I think that the elements that work keep this from being anywhere close to my worst list, but I just found it much more of a bland, middle of the road film then I hoped it would be.
