While this film is undoubtedly Quentin's True Romance and no one elses, I enjoyed watching his own romance on screen because it is literally a movie. Theres no coincidence that Clarance and Alabama both love kung-fu movies because their lives become one.

The performances in this film are brilliant with all cast members savouring Tarantino's sharp, worry dialogue which I giggled at many times.

Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken stand out for one extremely tense scene where a magnificent monologue is given, complete with eggplants, Sicilians and lying.

I have to say, I do feel the film was too over indulgent. When we first meet Clarance he is a nerdy guy who's boss sends him a prostitute because he feels sorry for him. Yet, in a flash, Clarance is the new Travis Buckle, killing pimps to save someone he barely knows.

Travelling to LA, the film seems to shatter the Detroit landscape which was established, but not necessarily in a good way. It's enjoyable to watch, and the Tarantino shoot out is entertaining, but in regards to the film's emotional, pure exposition, the denouement doesn't serve up a decent dessert after a wonderful entree.
