  • Three decades after the original Ghostbusters, it’s time for a new generation of heroes to answer the call and kick some ghost asses. Director Paul Feig follows the formula of the first two films to remind us the success of the beloved franchise by many fans.

Sony and Columbia Pictures have indeed figured out the reason to bring back the beloved Ghostbusters to the big screen. Their solution? Simple, maintain the setting in New York City, keep the elements of the original franchise, include gender issues and balance the tone of our storyline. And thankfully, this reboot succeeds.

The new team is the biggest strength of the movie, who are consisted of Saturday Night Live stars Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy. There are also cameo appearances from the past cast members like Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver and Dan Aykroyd. Lastly, it combines the elements of ghosts and gags fairly enough to deliver a both funny summer blockbuster and exciting Ghostbusters movie.

VERDICT: To everyone who has been giving the new Ghostbusters a lot of hate and bad comments, here's some salt and pepper. You better start eating your words.
