  • WHAT I LIKED: ‘Spy,’ – bizarrely the first film ever to go by that name - manages to bundle its brilliant cast and arguably messy story into one of the best-written and most entertaining comedies of the year. Yes, not only does this film get you laughing with its brilliant humour and comedy; it also brings a level of serious engagement thanks to the occasional spark of characterisation and bad-ass action that rivals the serious elements of the very films it's spoofing. As if that wasn't enough, it also gives Mission: Impossible a run for its money with the kind of style and pacing that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: What it does, it does best. But what it does is nothing particularly new.
VERDICT: Hands down hilarious and laugh-out-loud funny, 'Spy' is the perfect recipe for a fun, thrilling, family film that you can really get into.
