  • WHAT I LIKED: Surprisingly intelligent and yet every bit as badass and gory as you'd expect, 'Robocop's original idea makes for one thoroughly memorable and interesting film that stands the test of time despite feeling so dated. Yes this concept not only builds something genuinely iconic, but it also focuses on American ideals in a somewhat amusing way to become an enjoyably flippant commentary on the era. Couple that with some well-directed character moments and a lot of genuinely engaging action to get your teeth into, and what you get is a brash but enjoyable film with a little more under its memorable surface.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: In the same breath, it certainly isn't a subtle or nuanced film by any stretch of the imagination...
VERDICT: ‘Robocop’ is a genuinely interesting and thoroughly original concept that stands the test of time for good reason. Shame about that reboot…
