  This is a prime example of a fascinating story idea being poorly executed. Originally aired as a TV miniseries, The Langoliers clearly needed to pad out its running time. There are endless scenes of needless dialogue and cringe-inducing acting from most of the cast. Then there are the special effects which look like something out of some of the first 3D video games. Regardless of all of that, it’s the plot that keeps one glued to the screen and intent on finishing the film. It’s not a movie I feel the need to watch again, but it’s interesting for what it could have been.
