  When the film first started, I admit, I was completely put off by its erratic, wacky and irreverent style, but as the film began to progress, the characters became more engaging, the songs became more well placed, and tone had struck a fine balance between zany fun, and emotionally resonant. Moulin Rouge! is a fun time with music, but just know what you're getting into before you watch it!
