  • WHAT I LIKED: Pegged by many as the epitome of the thriller genre; 'Se7en' is a film that earns its status by gripping you tighter and leaving you more desperate to watch each and every situation unfold than virtually any other thriller. This is of course thanks to David Fincher, who builds a set of properly brilliant and engaging characters who not only serve the plots and themes, but also themselves. With all that in place, he puts them through visual, audible and narrative hell to guide 'Seven' to a properly heart pumping and jolly terrifying experience.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It is a touch relentless and never really lets up and gives head-space to the audience. As a result, it'll grip you whilst you're there, but it won't have a hugely lasting effect.
VERDICT: One of the most gripping and exciting thrillers you'll watch in the moment; ‘Seven’ is a film that earns its prestigious spot in movie history, and reserves David Fincher his place too.
