This entry in the apes saga brings a satisfying conclusion to Cesars Journey. This will go down as one of the best trilogys of all time. Andy serkis deserved an Oscar nomination for his performance. The CGI is stunning and has come a long way enhancing its apes from the first film in 2011. The film juggles several themes and has many layers to it. I like how it focuses on the casualties of war rather than just focusing on mind numbing action that Hollywood all too many times deliver. Theres an emotional story of survival and revenge underneath this epic war. Woody Harrelson turns in a great performance as a General hell bent on ending the lives of apes for good. Its been quite a journey and fun to see how a series from the 1960s turned its focus on humans to the apes. There isn't a true villain or hero in this movie which in my opinion makes the film even more compelling. This way a joy to watch from start to finish and plenty of easter eggs in there for fans of the original 5 films. I truly hope there is more chapters to come in this series. I give war for the Planet of the apes a 9 out of 10
