  In a film that's very different from Whiplash's wild, yet brilliant intensity; Damien Chazelle manages to create an even more fantastic film. That definitely ranks a my favourite of 2016. La la land fuses the great romance between Emma Stone; who gave a superb Oscar winning performance as Mia. A struggling actress who has almost given up on her career. She meets the proud enthusiast Sebastian played wonderfully by Ryan Gosling. This film follows the ups and downs of their relationship as they both try to survive in the unforgiving world of Hollywood. But at heart; this film is a musical. And a brilliant one as well; with wonderful songs that I can hear for days on end! This film is phenomenal, and even though it didn't the best picture; I still believe its the best film of the year, and well worth a watch!
