Money Monster, directed by Jodie Foster, is an OK movie that suffers from having such big names in the leads.

Throughout the entirety of the film, I found myself wondering who could've played Lee Gates (George Clooney) and Patty Fenn (Julia Roberts) a lot better. Each one of those, although fine actors, simply did not fit the part.

The pacing of the film worked really well and it was meant to flow in "real time" while live on the air. Its only 95 minutes long, which is good because any longer and it would've turned into a drag-fest.

The suspenseful moments in this worked pretty well, but suffered again due to the miscasting of the lead actors. I simply could not get beyond the poor casting. I supposed that's what kept me from really enjoying this paint-by-numbers screenplay.

They tried really hard to play on the current anger-against-Wall Street movement, but it came off way too artificial and superficial.

Give this a view if it happens to be on tv. No need to rush and rent it.
