  • WHAT I LIKED: 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars,' is literally just an extra-long Clone Wars episode that preceded the rest, and as someone who rather loves the subsequent series, I have to say that's no bad thing as far as I'm concerned. Why? Well what this TV show basically does is magnify all of the good stuff at the centre of the prequels and gets rid of the rubbish - meaning the character stuff with Obi-Wan and Anakin (as well as some great new characters) and the overall warring turmoil and lack of all-good or all-bad is very much present, but the boring politics, unlikeable character portrayals and horrible visuals are gone. That's similarly the case with this movie then (even if visually it's rather below the standard of later seasons) and that makes for something engaging and fun to an extent that neither of the first two prequel movies were.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: The story itself arguably isn't the best, as the mission lacks the personal or political stakes that some of the storylines the series explores as it develops.
VERDICT: An extra-long Clone Wars episode for the big-screen, 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars,' hints at why this series is such an asset to the Star Wars canon, but is equally far from the best of its extensive 6-season bunch.
