Having been shadowed in 2016, I had missed Coco completely. Coming to finally view it, it was a joy to let Pixar do their best, as they usually do. Cars 2 will always leave a mark. A skidmark.

Beautiful, cultural and poignant as ever, Coco is a sweet tale of success, dreams and family surrounding loss. It tugs at your heartstrings, tickles your funnybone and everything else in-between. While it does seem to adhere to a structure more obviously than Toy Story, or perhaps Inside Out, the twists nevertheless were a genuine surprise and the film, overall, a sensationl joy
