WHAT I LIKED: Joe Johnston's 'Jumanji,' is a pretty crumby family film based on a pretty ridiculous concept, but it's one buoyed by a spectacular performance from Robin Williams. Yes what this mostly serves to prove is that Williams can make even the most absurd material captivating and even occasionally profound - be it a humorous moment clinging to a crocodile in a hallway, or the realisation that his parents are dead after twenty-six years estranged in a fictional jungle, he somehow makes everything charming and successful. Couple that with the madness of everything around him and what you've got is an entertaining film that will undoubtedly slap a few smiles on the face.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It is completely ridiculous...
VERDICT: A ridiculous family film held up by yet another wonderful performance from Robin Williams, 'Jumanji,' isn't all that great in itself, but it does prove how great Williams is.1 member likes this review.
