  • WHAT I LIKED: Joe Johnston's 'Jumanji,' is a pretty crumby family film based on a pretty ridiculous concept, but it's one buoyed by a spectacular performance from Robin Williams. Yes what this mostly serves to prove is that Williams can make even the most absurd material captivating and even occasionally profound - be it a humorous moment clinging to a crocodile in a hallway, or the realisation that his parents are dead after twenty-six years estranged in a fictional jungle, he somehow makes everything charming and successful. Couple that with the madness of everything around him and what you've got is an entertaining film that will undoubtedly slap a few smiles on the face.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It is completely ridiculous...
VERDICT: A ridiculous family film held up by yet another wonderful performance from Robin Williams, 'Jumanji,' isn't all that great in itself, but it does prove how great Williams is.
