WHAT I LIKED: There's no denying it; stylistically, 'John Wick' is one of the coolest in its game, as it packs some if the best world-building, cinematography and action choreography that this kind kind of film could ever offer. Honestly, not a hair is out of place here, and the sheer prowess and badassery of the filmmaking is enough to warrant a ticket. Match that with a super-slick performance from Keanu Reeves and you've got yourself a film that impresses ten-fold and provides ample room for admiration and enjoyment.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: Take away all the shiny stuff and it isn't really anything new at all. That's not really a problem, it's just that other films have provided a more engaging experience for me with more likeable and developed leads.
VERDICT: 'John Wick' is a very nice film to behold, but if you're looking for a story to properly engage you, others do it better.1 member likes this review.
