Alfonso Cuaron's Roma is a master-stroke of cinematic bravado. Yalitza Aparicio's deeply affecting, yet potently subtle performance acts as the steady undercurrent to this massive tidal wave of narrative brilliance. Cuaron's steady eye tracks this epic with a tender care, and his innate ability of making something out of very little is ever at work in this project, successfully combining personally intimate challenges with nationwide historical events and 20th century societal issues. Roma is simply put one of the greatest achievements in cinema, and undoubtedly one of the best movies the world has ever seen.0 member like this review.
