  • WHAT I LIKED: A simple heist movie like this - remake or not - stands and falls on its ability to build a riveting, surprising and engaging final act, and thankfully that's exactly where Steven Soderbergh's 'Ocean's 11,' excels most. Yes thanks to a great eventual plot with plenty of surprising twists and turns and a whole bunch of snappy dialogue, you'll find yourself thoroughly hooked regardless of how much you care about the characters. Couple that with a star-studded cast and some crisp editing and direction from Soderbergh, what you get is a very entertaining heist film where the heist part delivers on its promise.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: I'm unaware if this was the case in the original, but perhaps by the film's very nature, the whole build-up feels a little obligatory as we assemble 12 characters and a premise heavy enough to entertain and surprise with its payoff.
VERDICT: An entertaining heist film where the third act truly delivers, 'Ocean's 11,' is nothing but harmless and engaging fun.
