    DEADPOOL 2
    (David Leitch, 2018)
    _______________
    Story:
Even the biggest fanboys have to admit: The plot isn't very good. The film feels like they just tucked some funny scenes together, not aiming for a coherent story. But that's just one of this films problems. My biggest issue is, that this film thinks it's so much smarter than it actually is... Still: Domino was amazing, the X-Force was cool, a few gags really made me laugh... But they throw all that away with recycled (and predictable) gags and a really boring story, which never really sucked me in... Sorry.

    Style:
Well, it's a big budget summer blockbuster. It's just... Fine. Cinematography and music do their job, visual effects are ok... I gotta give some love to the costume / make-up artists of the film. The character design is great, I loved the look of most X-Force members, especially the bigger characters deserve to be mentioned. Other than that: Nothing special, but nothing I could criticise here.

    Entertainment:
People somehow love this film. It has a few decent gags, but most of them a really predictable. The story was pretty much not existent, it feels more like a sketch show. The action was boring, the story with his girlfriend was anoying, the emotional depth never evolved. I enjoyed watching this film, because of a few gags and a few characters. But a ton of gags missed, the story was meh and the action was uncreative. No idea why so many people love it so much.

    Conclusion:
Deadpool 2 is funny. That's about it. While many gags work, a ton just misses, cuz they're recylcled from part one, or are just predictable. You're meta. We get it. But not in a smart way, the result is the opposite. The emotional backstory of Deadpool (including his girlfriend) doesn't work at all, the story isn't very creative... And it's just not as smart as it thinks. A few pop culture references (just namedropping. No deeper jokes here, so don't expect them...) and a few meta gags don't make a smart movie! But hey, I think I should just be happy that the Fast and Furious generation watches movies that have a little more depth. I think this is the maximum we'll get in modern blockbuster cinema. Ok. Fine.
