  • An immensely satisfying sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes expands on the mythology Rise sets up, and delves deeper into the issues of the pack. Matt Reeves takes up the role of Director for this blockbuster sequel, and does not stray from what Rupert Wyatt brought to the screen, but rather infuses his own flare to the skeleton of a very Rupert Wyatt styled film. As with the previous film in the trilogy, this film has tremendous action and some very creative story-telling; however, the standout parts in this film are Andy Serkis' portrayal of Caesar, and Toby Kebbell's turn as Koba, and their pure relationship. Matt Reeves created a worthy sequel that is just as good if not better than the original, and gives the third film a hefty task to complete.
