Doubling up on the humor and zombie kills, “Zombieland: Double Tap”, directed by Ruben Fleischer, while concentrates on the entertainment factor more than telling a unique story, greatly utilizes its strengths to deliver an colorfully grotesque, easygoing popcorn flick that will surely keep you in your seats and make you forget that you’ve already seen this before.

Time has passed since we’ve last seen our “Zombieland” family, as they’re now experts in this apocalyptic world. However, when the youngest member of their group decides to “leave the nest” because she wants to find teens like her, the gang must embark on a daring road trip to find her. They also must avoid getting ripped to shreds by a newly evolved breed of zombies that are smarter, faster, and stronger than the average undead.

Every sequel is inevitably beholden to certain elements of its predecessor, but “Double Tap” cribs the original so liberally that it robs a little too much than it can chew. That being said, the film still holds enjoyment thanks to its quick-witted quips, strong zombie filled action sequences that contains powerful visuals and awesome one takes that further elevates the tension of the scene, and a fantastic cast of characters that still retains their quirky selves much to our benefit.
    .
Almost feeling like a reuniting with old friends, the core cast boasts terrific character consistency, while still showcasing the improvements they’ve received over the years of staring in bigger films. Emma Stone, in particular, shows better comedic timing and has great facials, while Jesse Eisenberg successfully lowers his awkward disposition that helps his character tremendously. Woody Harrelson is as rowdy as ever, while still having that tough guy with a soft core demeanor to him.
    .
The show-stealers, surprisingly, here though are the new array of characters that are uproariously hilarious as the original cast. Zoey Deutch is obnoxiously hysterical as a relentlessly cheerful girl that has less brains than the zombies themselves! Luke Wilson, Rosario Dawson, and Thomas Middeditch, who all have minor roles in this, are still gut-busting humorous and provide great chemistry with the original cast and allows for great character interactions that are downright hilarious.
    .
“Zombieland: Double Tap” sometimes appears as if you’ve taken this journey before, but it’s fantastic characters that feel more alive than ever helps this retreading story be more palpable and enjoyable to watch. The zombie fest provides plenty of hilarious character banter, kills, and fresh new faces to makes this a mildly tasty film to munch on.
