  I expected two things coming into this movie: thrilling sci-fi action sequences and amazing visuals. And walking out of it I can say that it does deliver on the amazing visuals, not so much on the action, but that there a lot of other things to cover in this movie. The plot, for starters, is very convoluted and messy; it jumps from one place to another and doesn't really stick to the main story. Dan Dehaan for me didn't really sell as Valerian but I liked Cara Delevingne as Laureline. As for the chemistry between them, it was OK, not terrible but just ok. Luc Besson's direction was fine as well but i didn't really like the way he sometimes handled the camera (jumped from here to there, moved all over the place during action sequences). That being said, the scale and visuals of this movie overall were top notch and fantastic and for that reason this movie gets a 6 out of 10.
