To think it's been 40 years since this franchise begun. 40 years since Luke Skywalker took his first steps into a much bigger world. 40 years since perhaps the most influential set of movies that spawned into a phenomenon, and it all started with this film. Star Wars is simply a fantastic film. It brought us into a whole new world in a galaxy far,far away; that brought us X wings, tie fighters and the Death Star. Along with a story of hope and friendship that has only become more fond over the ages. Creating the legendary characters of Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia among many others. It also revolutionized the film industry with simply groundbreaking special effects, and extraordinary sets that could seemlessly fit into this century. Not to mention this film has frickin' lightsabers! Yes, I do love this film; along with many others people mind you. However my bias from this film takes nothing away from the sheer immeasurable greatness of this film. George Lucas made a generation of childhoods here; in a movie that has surely stood the test of time.
