Memories of Murder is a masterclass in blocking for cinematic effect. Bong Joon-Ho channels his inner Kurosawa, using expert staging and a variety of varying perspectives to tell this story of murder and desperation. Song-Kang Ho is incredible, and combined with a perfectly dark and comedic tone, the film owns its uniqueness, but never shies away from the statutes of narrative and dramatic convention.0 member like this review.
