  • Terror is the main theme in “London Has Fallen”. During the funeral of the London Prime Minister, terrorists have taken over the event causing severe devastation and death of innocent civilians and world leaders. Gerard Butler’s Mike Banning returns to rescue the US President played by Aron Eckhart. Seems familiar? Well yes, because the crew decided to take the formula of the first movie, but this time, to make it bigger and flashier.

The bro-mance chemistry of Butler and Eckhart is indeed the highlight here - their promising characters with the stellar yet under-utilized cast including Morgan Freeman and Angela Bassett provide a promising presence during on screen. Nonetheless, the uncertain goals and targets do not furnish the depth of our antagonists, making them one-dimensional. And while the movie is filled with tacky dialogue and cheap one-liners, it is the delivery of our characters that matter.

VERDICT: Imagine a movie combined with the elements from Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich, but this time, without robots and aliens.
