  • I'll start by saying that I was never able to get into the Dark tower stuff when I was younger. I think it was because I couldn't keep up with all the stories being out of order and tied together making one huge 6000-page monstrosity. I just didn't have time for that. I loved King though. His short stories are my favorite.

Having never read the source material, I was happy to learn that the creators didn't plan this to be a 90-minute adaptation of the entire story but a sequel. That makes me want to attempt to read some of King's series.

I don't see any huge issues with the film itself. I love Elba, Idris Elba and Aright, Alright, McConaughey. The kid wasn't great. His accent needed some serious work. Every time he would slip into his British / Irish accent I would cringe a little bit.

I think that the critics who are hating on this film have just forgotten the faces of their fathers.
