  I was drawn to The Blackcoat's Daughter because it is from one of my favorite studios, A24. The story follows Kat and Rose, two young women who are spending winter break at their religious boarding school when strange things begin to happen. I knew nothing about this film when I went into it and overall I enjoyed it. But it definitely is not for everyone. The biggest downside of this film is that it is a slow-burn thriller and when I say slow-burn, I mean slooooooooow-burn. I am normally a fan of these types of horror films, but this one was a bit to slow for my taste. While the film is slow, in many areas, when it picks up, it really gets going with some very tense and violent moments. If you are a fan of horror, I would say to check it out, just go in with proper expectations.
