Videodrome is a blend of body horror and the surreal, with blend being the key word. It's as if Cronenberg put an arm and a VHS in a blender and decided to make it into a film.

The story is strange, with no clear boundary between what is real and what is an hallucination. A real sense of discomfort is felt throughout due to this and Cronenberg's twisted body horror.

I adored Videodrome. A mixture of Lynch and Von Trier, Videodrome is a piece which makes you afraid to touch your own skin, for fear that you may find a gaping mouth. Whilst I may need to rewatch the film to understand the plot, particularly towards the end, the feeling of true spin tingling fear in this film is what makes it so memorable.
