I hope we don't have to wait nine years for Tamara Jenkins' third film. I loved Savages, but I had forgotten all about it until I was looking at the credits after watching this very moving and intensely personal portrait. I feel like Jenkins was channeling her inner Baumbach with the gritty realism and pitch black humor. I love just about everything that Giamatti does, but I was only used to seeing Kathryn Hahn in vapid comedies. It was so great to see her sink her teeth into a dramatic role and really drink it in. She was fantastic as a woman who has just been chewed up and spit out.0 member like this review.
