THE LOBSTER is a deliciously weird film. Whenever someone asks me what I thought of it, it is the first thing I tell them.

The Lobster stars Collin Farrell as "David," who has recently been dumped and now heads over to a quirky hotel where people have 45 days to find a suitable mate, or they will get turned into the animal of their choice. David's choice of animal is a lobster. Hence the title.

Does David find true love before having to become a lobster? Well, you'll have to watch it and find out. And trust me, the journey we take with David's quest for love is well worth it.

I will say, however, that the film's pacing may turn off some viewers. But if you're used to, let's say, Wes Anderson movies, then you'll have a good time with this one.

The film overall is a satire about the ridiculous pressure society puts on a person to find a suitable mate. But I wont go into too many themes I was able to pick up from watching due to the fact that I don't want to go into SPOILER TERRITORY. I don't want to be that guy.

The Characters: You will enjoy every single one of them and you will enjoy the way they are portrayed. Every single character in this film makes you want to know more about them.

I highly recommend THE LOBSTER. But make sure you don't watch it if you think you're remotely tired. Make sure you're wide awake so you don't miss anything. Trust me, you don't want to miss anything this wonderful piece of cinema throws your way.
