  • I'm going to be completly honest, I haven't seen the original Jungle Book animated movie, so I went into this not comparing it to anything else, and this movie was amazing. The big news about this movie was the fact that all of the surroundings and animals where CGI, and this is definitely the most convincing CGI I have ever seen in a movie. It really felt like it was filmed in the jungle. The animals where also very convincing, as they really felt like they where there. The voice acting in this movie was great. Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken, and Scarlett Johansson where all great. Bill Murray on the other hand, stole the show every scene he was in. The kid actor in this movie was really good for such a young actor, especially working on a film like this, where nothing is real. This movie was very well written, as we got just the prefect amount of banter and explanation. The story in this movie is timeless, as the only thing I think will be dated many years down the road is the special effects. I was surprised that this movie has a PG rating, as I felt this seemed more like a PG-13 film, as it was very intense at many times. I only really had one problem with this movie, and it was the decision to add musical numbers into the movie. I didn't feel like it needed them, but they didn't last that long, about a minute each, and there where only two of them. Overall, I think that this movie is a CGI masterpiece that requires at least one viewing.
