One of the most anticipated movies of the year and the DCEU's last chance of the year to try and catch up to the MCU. Sadly Suicide Squad falls flat as a very disappointing film establishing the DCEU's place below the MCU. However this movie is far from completely terrible. Margot Robbie is creative and inspiring as Harley Quinn as she is clearly having fun with her character; Will Smith is his classic self in a funny and quite nuanced performance as deadshot while Jai Courtney gives perhaps the most hilarious portrayal as capatin boomerang. However these performances do not cover the shortcomings of this film. The rest of the team are quite unnecessary only needed to fill out the numbers. Cara Delevigne gives an uninspiring cliche villain performance while Jared Leto's attempt at the Joker is simply over dramatic and lackluster. The final fight scenes has horrendous editing at times capping off a poorly structured film with undelightful storytelling abilities but with enjoyable qualities.
