First and foremost, I'm going to open this up with saying that I'm a fan of not only DC Comics, but a fan of DC movies as well. I was one of the few who actually defended BvS (even though it's in no shape or form a perfect movie) and still remain somewhat hopeful DC/WB will come through and get their act together.

However, Suicide Squad is one of their movies that, as a DC and movie fan, I simply can NOT defend.

Five minutes into the movie and already I knew that it was a mess. The editing was atrocious and all the shine thrown at the screen made me nauseated.

I will say, however, that once it settled down it actually started to look and feel like a David Ayer movie. But that glimmer of hope was very short-lived.

What a waste of potentially great actors and characters. They were simply not given anything good to do. It was as though they got together one day and Ayer said, "Ok, everyone. Stand in front of the camera and say funny things."

My biggest problem with this movie was not Jared Leto's horrible depiction of the iconic Joker, but the fact that they spent more time telling us these characters on screen were "bad guys" as opposed to showing us that they're bad guys.

Even Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) says at one point, "It's what we do. We're bad guys." Nothing they did on screen showed me that they were believable villains.

This will go down as one of the DCEU movies I will NOT see again.
