The evil dead at the time had many things going against it, such as its low budget, inexperienced actors, directors and most of the crew and cast being straight out of college. Despite this, though it has become a cult classic and set the formula which horror films still follow to this day. The reason for this is largely attributed to the director, who managed to embrace these flaws and use them to there advantage. The poor filming conditions created a sense of dread that whent with the film and the low budget strangely made the film seem surprisingly earnest. A definite must watch.1 member likes this review.
