This review contains a heavy spoiler regarding its twist. You have been warned.

I wasn't alive when The Usual Suspects was released. On 1995, many audiences considered this as the best mystery-crime-thriller of all time. In fact, this earned the first Best Supporting Actor for Kevin Spacey and Best Original Screenplay for Christopher McQuarrie at the 68th Academy Awards.

It was told in flashbacks from the perspective of central character Roger 'Verbal' Kint (Spacey) - a con artist with cerebral palsy - in his knowings about a drug deal gone wrong. He explains how his crew was pressed into service and got manipulated by a ruthless crime kingpin named Keyser Söze.

With unexpected twists and a misleading narrator, The Usual Suspects totally surprised me! It was taught that Keyser Söze is none other than Verbal Kint. So basically, the film is a lie. The narrative is just a tall tale all along. But whenever I think of this movie, it's definitely an effective and astonishing look on how films can fool and make fun out of myself.
