Even with the good reviews, I was still surprised how good this movie was. Even before shit blew up, I was interested in what everyone was doing on the deepwater horizon. Once everything started to blow up, it was non stop intensity till the credits rolled. This is thanks to the building of suspense and the dread of knowing shits gonna go down. Also, the proformances were surprisingly strong from Mark Walburg and Gina Rodriguez. The movie was also beautifully shot and the special effects were overall pretty good. As for cons, it was a bit slow before the explosion at times and the fire effect didn't look as good as the other effects, but I overall really liked this movie and was suprised by how good it was.
