I absolutely adore this film, and it saddens me how much this film was beaten down and ridiculed by critics. The acting in this film is really good; Michael Fassbender brings a whole new element to Magneto in a brilliant performance which I believe to be his best in this franchise. James Mcavoy is soldi again; while Jennifer Lawrence's mystique does feel a less captivating then in her portrayals but she still does pull out a decent enough performance. Aside from that the young X-Men are entertaining; even if some of them don't have the same personality aspects like in previous films ( looking at you Scott). Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse is menacing from the beginning, but truthfully did seem to become less frightening as the movie went on, and during the tail end definitely didn't capture the power that I've been hearing about since my childhood. The story arcs for characters like magneto are superb; the dialogue is nothing special, and the action sequences are great. The last fight sequence starts off well, but for me it does end with a bit of a sour taste. As a avid fan of the X-Men films, and as someone who absolutely loves this trilogy; I may be bias in my admiration of this film. But I generally do believe this movie is a great experience. Perhaps if you haven't watched or enjoyed the X men films that much you will join the train of hate for this film, but if you love watching these actors, and this story you will definitely enjoy yourself with this film.
