I just finished watching OVERBOARD (2018) starring Anna Farris, Eugenio Derbez, and Eva Longoria. Before I watched the film, I looked it up on FilmFed.com to see what everyone thought of it. What I found is that the FilmFed members had given it an average rating of 5 out of 10 "SO-SO." Being a fan of the original 1987 film, I decided to give it a watch regardless of the average rating, and I am glad I did!
I enjoyed OVERBOARD (2018) far more than I expected. The film's first act is a little wacky and goofy, but once Leonardo (Eugenio Derbez) joined Kate (Anna Faris) has her fake husband, things improved significantly. Yes, the film does have some pretty ridiculous plot points, and the concept of not being able to identify the son of one of the wealthiest people in the world with modern technology is implausible. But if you turn your brain down just a bit and don't try to make sense of every single plot point, I think you can enjoy this film.
Overall, I enjoyed the film and would watch it again. As a whole, I found to be funnier than I expected and as the film progresses, it forms a lot of heart. I give OVERBOARD (2018) a 7 out of 10.0 member like this review.
