This documentary covers the rise and fall of Amy Winehouse, the acclaimed blues/jazz singer who died after drug use and pressure from the music industry to succeed. The documentary shows us Amy at the beginning of her career. We see her swap old friends for new boyfriends, trusted associates for those who smelt money. There's a real sense of tragedy at the heart of this documentary. We've all seen this story before but sticking with the young Amy, whose life was tragically short, we get a sense that it was almost inevitable. There are those that are more responsible, both boyfriends and parents, but despite all this, there is an undeniable sense that once this fire starts it cannot be stopped.0 member like this review.
