  • WHAT I LIKED: On the one hand, 'You've Got Mail,' is a pretty cheesy romance movie elevated by performances from Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. But more so than that, its interesting central concept about online personas vs reality elevates the film to something a little more interesting. That's because it not only deals with something that's only become more relevant since the film's release, but also because it adds an extra layer of intrigue to the story. Couple that with some sparky on-screen chemistry and buckets of cheese and you've yourself a charming little Christmasy romance movie.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It's hardly the best-written, most profound watch of all time, but it's not really trying to be either.

VERDICT: A nice little well-acted romance movie with an interesting central concept that elevates it slightly, 'You've Got Mail,' is no masterpiece, but it's undeniably an engaging and enjoyable watch.
