  • Luc Besson's talent for the arts is evident in this film; the way he explores the genres of fantasy and sci-fi simultaneously is masterful, and this validates his position in Hollywood as one of the greatest visionaries of our time. What the fifth element lacks in character development and heart, it makes up for in visuals and revolutionary special effects. Although this movie may not be as fully realized as some of his other outings, it's still rather spectacular to look at.
